Anyway to tell what year a Mark VIII fan came out of?

I am looking at buying a Mark VIII electric fan and was wondering if it really matters what year it came out of? And if it does is there anyway to tell what year the part number PA66 - (GF+M) -38 ? Thank you!

Give us the part number, whatever number you posted above, is not the correct one. It should start with and F, which stands for '90s, the number after the F denotes the year.

For Example:
F4 = '94

They are all good, some just spin faster than others, no matter which one you get, they all are very good...Mine is from a '94

The part number on the picture the seller sent me doesn't match any of those, so I am not sure exactly what it is.

93-96 fans spin the fastest.

Then the grumpy old Mark 8 owners complained about fan noise so Ford changed the fan pitch in 97 and again in '98 to quiet it down. It cost them a few CFM.

I had a '93 and all my hearing works and i could never hear the damn fan. I don't get where the complaint was. Hell, that damn Mark 8 earned me my custom title. Oh i miss that car.

'94 Thunderbird/Cougar.

Same basic shroud shape, i think it flows slightly less CFM but still a pretty damn good fan

93-96 use p/n F3LY 8C607 A @ 245.80
The 93-96 spin 1100 rpmson low and 1850 on highspeed.

97's use p/n F7LZ 8C607 AB @ 196.23
98's use p/n F8LZ 8C607 AA @ 140.11
The 97-98 spin 1800 on low and 2225 on high.

They all look the same, all come with a shroud. The 93-96 spin slower according to Ford Motorsport Tech line.
