Ok so my aod is toast and im looking to rebuild it and strangthen it up. What kind of power can the stock gears in an aod hold? Im wanting to put a race rebuild kit and a performance automatic valve body in it. Any suggestions on how to make this trans last? Im wanting to do this as cheap as possible but i dont want to buy junk parts. Thanks for any help.

The internals will hold up well to average abuse (stay out of OD), the input shaft is usually first to go when you start building power. If you want advice as well as awesome write ups on modding an AOD look up SilverFox. He is a mod on the corral and has a lot of his work on click click racing.

There is a simply epoxy mod to stop the 1-2-1 shift pattern, I got used to so I never did it.
