AOD fluid Capacity wtih aftermarket deep pan

ok, so i got a B&M deep pan. I am ready to get to work and have the "a" servo, shiftkit and deeper pan put on. How many qts of tranny fluid will i need? the B&M thing says "capacity increase 3qts" so that means.. 3 more qts than with the stock unit. right?
what type of tranny fluid should i use? is it safe to use those additives that prevent/fix leaks? i might do it to prevent future headaches.. thanks

The best recomened off the shelf fluid for the AOD is now the same fluid that is used in the newer Ford automatic transmissions, Mercon V. Several companys make it. It is much better than the older Mercon III. Do not mix them. Too many variables to give capacity, coveter, external coolers, etc. Just have at least 15 ready for a fresh install. Pour in 5 quarts then start it and let it run for about 30 seconds, then shut it off and add another 5 quarts. Restart it and check it, and add 1-2 quarts till it shows, then 1 qrt at a time till in the safe range. Let it get warned up, then add till near full. Mine has a deep sump, and (2) 24,0000 GVW coolers, and a 9 1/2 inch 3.500 conveter, and took 16 quarts. If yours is a stock 12" converter and no external cooler, should be about 15-17 qrts if both the trans and converter were empty. Fill till at full :)
