I am installing a new set of transmission lines that I got from inlinetube.com.

Is it common to have the fitting completely tight on the tranny side and still have a little play with the aluminum tubing sliding back and forth? It seems that the female fitting on the tranny is deeper than the fitting on the transmission line.

I would think that for a good seal, the tubing would be tight inside the fitting.

This is my first time dealing with this so any help is greatly appreciated.

The transmission lines are supposed to be able to move and rotate a little bit. Thats their design.

As long as the fitting itself is properly sized and is tight, I dont think you should have any problems.

If they are o ring type fittings they will have some movement while still sealing. If they are flare fittings, they should not. I have seen both kinds, depending on the year of the trans and the last guy that worked on it....
