Is it possible to install the transmission without removing the fill tube from the transmission?

Not sure, but why would you need to?

I would think it's possible but why make it harder than it has to be? Just pop the tube out, install the tranny, then stick the tube back in. Rather than trying not to hit or bend the tube, just take it out and the install will be easier.

remove it since it's so easy.....not worth bending it.

I would recommend a new O-ring for the filler tube when you put it back in.
