No Idea. Probably best to give them a call and describe to them what it's doing, they might be able to give you a ballpark figure. My experience is that autos are never cheap to fix, but unless yours is making wierd noises then it might just be a tuning issue (if there is any tuning with AOD's  )

The AOD will not have a removeable Bellhousing, you can check for that too.

You can also manually shift it. With the AOD....put the car in its lowest gear (1). accelerate, shift up to (2)- the car should shift. Then, immediately shift back down to (1). The car SHOULD NOT downshift. Accelerate. Then shift back to (2) when appropriate. Accelerate. Shift to (D) when appropriate. You should feel the car shift each time....except for that first (and only) downshift.

If you start your car in (1)...then shift to (2).....then shift it to (D), it will feel like you are missing a gear, when you really are not.

You can test it that way and not damage your transmission. Just dont wind it out to 6500 rpms! Accelerate as you would if you were driving on the street.

Do you have the overdrive delete solenoid? It is possible you may not be getting into first gear. If I don't have my solenoid powered it won't go into 1st gear no matter what my linkage says. Could tell us what speed you are going when it shifts?

It sounds like you are getting into first. Do you know if you have an overdirve delete solenoid? From what I understand this controls the valving in the tranny that keeps it out of overdrive. A quick way to tell is to locate the driver side rear of the pan. From there go up until the housing that the pan bolts to returns to the main body of the tranny. In this area you should find a single wire coming up out of the case.

At this point you may want to give Lentech a call.

Why would you want an overdrive delete on an overdrive transmission?

From what I've heard, if it isn't shifting properly, make sure you're TV cable is functioning properly. If its not, adjust it and if that doesn't fix it you're AOD is likely burnt. Running with an improperly adjusted cable will kill it very quickly.

OK now i have a problem. when its in drive it sometimes acts like its in neutral and revs up a little then a second later it goes like its in drive. it does all that with out me touching the shifter. it happends once in a while not all the time. especially when im at a stop sign/light going up hill. so when i step on the gas harder i wait for it to kick in to go and i accedently burn rubber for a little bit.. help please..

The "proper" way to set up your TV cable is to take it to a trans shop. They should hook up a pressure gauge to the line pressure and adjust it based on the reading.

The "Do-it-yourself" way is to make sure that there is NO slack in the cable. Also there HAS to be 1:1 movement between the carb lever and the TV lever. Meaning when the butterflies are fully closed the TV lever must be at the "zero" position, and vice versa (Wide open=wide open)

All the service literature I have read indicates that it must be set up properly in a transmission shop. Things I have read on the internet indicate that following the above will work just as good...

Have you found what your shifting problem is yet? I have the same problem with mine. It worked fine until a high rpm run and then just quit going into fourth. I think I may have done something to one of the clutch packs?? I know my tv cable is set up right. Let me know

Have you tried counting indents on the shifter. Might be the rob is out of adjustment.

Pull the shifter all the way...the car should stay in first. Click forward one detent and then it can shift into 2nd and then third if the RPMs are high enough. One more click forward and you will have overdrive.

If the shifter aint aligned correctly (which it won't be if its a stock shifter and there isn't a niftly little adaptor on it that lets you bolt the shiftrod up a little higher on the arm, your shifter might not be aligned correctly with the tranny shift pattern.

Just a thought
