All the different manuals I've read show a special bar that is placed
across the pump mounting face in the case and used along with a
depth mike to set clearances on the intermediate clutch and end play
to pick the right plastic thrust washer that goes behind the pump.

But - no manual gives the thickness of that bar! You have to know the
thickness of that bar to figure the right clearances based on the
specs in the manuals.

Anybody know what that bar thickness is?

The bar lays across where the pump goes and use the mic to get the depth to determine the thickness. Most of the time the spacer that came out will work if the same kind of clutches are used.. Just get a new one...
