Want to go with an AOD in my 69 mach 1 , what are the Pros and Cons. Any Good sites to help with my decision. and Will an AOD out of a 87 Cougar work. I'm running the 4:11 rearend that I discovered in the car. how will the AOD work with that set up? Thanks John
chepsk8 did this very swap a few years ago so you might pm him about the swap. with 4:11 gears i would definitely go with the AOD swap. as long as the AOD comes from a 5.0 powered car you can use the transmission. you will need a flexplate with the proper 28oz balance factor. summit racing has them at a reasonable price. you must also properly hook up the throttle valve cable or you will burn up the trans in short order. lokar has the cable you need.
