Finaly got my lx back, I had it converted from an AOD to T-5 cost me 1,500$ for all the parts and labor to get it done, over all I am pretty happy with how it came out and the car performs alot better. I didnt realize how much the stock AOD held the car back so if anyone is thinking of doing a conversion I say do it!! Would like to Thank all the post people have done this message board really helps out alot.

hey if you paid to have it done including parts you didnt get ripped just not a deal record holder....i got everything and a cwol hood for a lil less than half of what you paid...i love the results but would never buy another aod stang again....but the plan is too never have too!!!! glad to see another aod to t5 swap!!!!!!! aods do suck

Oh man you're telling me, the AOD is horrible, I already did my swap awhile back. I hated when I was trying to haul ass at part throttle in first gear then it would shift to OD, and I never seen a tranny that shifted 1k rpm before the redline. Even my old A/T Escort would go to the redline, but it was mechanically controlled so that thing sucked at shifting too. The computer controlled A/T's I can live with, but I'll never buy another car with a mechanical auto tranny again.

parts included rebuilt t-5, king cobra clutch, Alum DS, steeda tri-ax, adj clutch cable, rear main seal, new clutch fork, steel bearring retainer, and speedo gear plus all the 5speed conversion parts needed and labor to do it.
