Ok well my gf just bought a 95 gt. Its an AOD. Now what exactly is the proper way to use the OD. The OD is on when the car is turned on. Does that mean it should stay on? Or should it be turned off and used at higher speeds? There are higher rpms on the highway when the OD is off then when it is on. Any input? Thanks!

A Ford mechanic sugested to leave the OD off while in the city (you don't need it) to keep the wear down. Don't know if thats true or not but I did that for most of the time I drove the Ford Mini Van and I never had tranny problems until it was ten yrs old. My brother on the other hand drove a sable with the same drive train and had to put 2 tranny's in it. He just put it in drive, and went.
