AOD tranny

I'm in the process of building a 1982 mustang with a windsor engine for the drags and occaisionaly drive on the streets. The thing is that this car is carburated and I want overdrive. I don't want a manual transmission because I can be bad at shifting when I'm at the track. So I want automatic tranny that I can fully shift manualy. Is there a way I can build or buy a AOD tranny thats capable of a manual shifting 1st through 4th gear? Or can I do a trans adapt for GM's crappy 700 tranny to my sbf?

Dang nice capri's I'm jealous. I sold 2 capri's just so can pay bills. I miss them but I got a mustang so it's ok. Yea anyway's with the tranny deal I would go with the C4 but I would like to drive to work and back every once in a while.
