Drivetrain Aod Tuning (tv Cable) Hints/tips

So I'm doing short little test drives now, working out the bugs and am convinced my TV cable needs adjusting.

Background:

• Built 351W
• 1993 AOD from a Mustang
• 2,800 RPM converter from TCI
• Deep transpan from TCI
• Auxilliary cooler out in front of radiator.
• Windsor Fox linkage kit
• Lokar cable kit

I adjusted the cable using a gauge per specs I found. No indication the trans is overheating. The problem is that it is upshifting WAY too soon, then slipping a lot due to the stall rating.

Two biggest questions:

1. Should I tighten or loosen the TV cable?
2. Am I at risk for burning anything up by doing this (adjusting for a "feel" instead of just using the gauge) or should I trust the settings and try something else?

Well I guess i can answer my own question...

1st thing...once you have the correct PSI at warm idle and have adjusted the acorn onto the cable itself make no more corrections there. Instead use the fine tuning section towards the rear.

Loosen the cable to cause earlier and softer shifts.
Tighten the cable to cause later and harder shifts.
