Just got the car back from the garage after AOD swap. Everything works fine except that it takes 1. gear too long to shift to 2, so I promised mechanic to post you guys to get some ideas.

1. gear - doesn't shift before you really push accellerator
2. gear . switches to quickly into 3.

Make sure the TV adjustment was done properly and that the TV linkage was hooked up properly.

How about some more info from you ? Was the AOD new/rebuilt ? What kind of torque converter are you using ? What TV linkage did you use ? What is the current TV vaccum reading at ? Does it have a shift kit in it ?

I have to check this with my mechanic.
Hoever, after some miles of drivind, the 1. gear now behaves normally.
Only problem left is 2. that switces too quicly into 3. and missing kickdown from 3. to 2.

With AOD transmissions it is absolutely critical that the TV be adjusted properly. If it is not you can completely burn the trans out in less then 50 miles.
