Hey all,

Before I had a stock 5.0 w/ AODE, 3.73 gears.... After throwing on most of the engine go-fast parts in my SIG (I have NOT installed the shift-kit), the tranny is acting a little different.

Driving under medium load it goes through 1st fine, but 2nd gear it just kind of hangs for about 3 seconds, then shifts over to 3rd gear.

Heck, I haven't even taken my car over 3,000 rpms yet.. no way I could've broke something!?

It shifts a little better under low load, but it still is in 2nd gear for a very short/limited (RPM wise) time....... any ideas???

The valve body wont change shift points. Just make the shifts faster.
I think thats what he meant, but in essense, faster shifting does change your shiftpoint. The stock valve body takes about a full second to shift from the time if first receives data from the computer, and maybe 500-1000 RPM's could go by in that amount of time depending on gear ratio. With an upgraded valve body, that shift time should be at least cut in half to .5 seconds, and thus changing your shift point by up to 500 RPM's. It may not be truly change where your computer decides to shift, but it does physically lower the RPM's at which your tranny does shift. So you're both right.

If you're talking to me, I can't say I have had the honor. Hopefully mine holds up for a long time! If it does go I would probably just buy a 99+ V-6 4R70W and save myself a headache. How much horsepower is the one you built (or at least the one in your sig.) supposed to hold up to? What did you do to get it to support the kind of power you will be running through it?

How much of a headache is it to swap in a 4R70W... just the wiring all different? Any good documents on this swap?
