Ive read of T5 to C4 swaps, but never seen anything on an AODE to C4 swap.
Does anyone have any info on this?

My real question is, will my AODE computer ( U4PO) work properly with a C4, being its not computer controlled. Wondering if this swap would cause any issues with the way the engine runs, because its not getting any input or output from any of the auto trans parts related to the aode.

Why wouldn't you just build the aode??? I would contact either Art Carr or Lentech and just get your aode built up.

Because it is so much cheaper and reliable to build a C4.

A built AODE will cost $2500, a built C4 with all the goodies can be had for $1200.. it not cheaper.

the computer will work just fine. I know plenty of people running auto computers on their 5 speed cars. you will have no issues there. If you are that concerned about it, you could always just swap your auto computer out for a 5spd computer

We both run Auto's.

Thats not in question here.

We want to switch our AODE's for C4's.

What exactly is a C4? I always read about the C4 and C6 conversions.

Well, I am going to be in the same boat as you guys are, even though I decided to stay with the aod-e, there will not be any computer connections due to the full manual valvebody taking control of shifts. I have a feeling the car will start just fine with the stock computer in there, but it may go into limp mode. Switching out to a stand alone unit would probably be the best bet, but looking at staying on the less costly side of things a tuner and the stock computer may work... I will keep you guys updated once it get the tranny installed and the car up and running.

I was wondering about this also. I may do it. TCI street fighter is 700$ for the c4. I loved my old TCI th350 so I may do this again.
