I was wanting to ask whats a good orbital I can use just to use the paint cleaner wax (McQuiars step 1) and to put the Tech Wax on. I want something thats is the least abrasive to help me put it on so I don't have to wear my arm out. Could I get one of the cheap ones at Advance Auto? Also can I switch the pads and take the wax off with it or will I need to do that by hand with a micro fiber towel?

i use either the orbital buffer thingy or one of my 100% cotton microfiber towels to apply, (suggested on the wax label) then i use a different microfiber towl to wipe it off, and it gets that beautiful smooth shine to it. If you use the buffer, i would recommend using a different microfiber towel to remove the wax, works a lot better in my opinion.

I am not a big fan of orbitals for any purpose. The problem is the pads are too big, not only is it hard to reach a lot of the spots on the car, the pads soak up way to much product. If you don't want to spend the money to get something better I would just stick to hand application. If you are insistant on getting an orbital, get one with the smallest pad you can find. There is another thread here in Sound and Shine on Orbitals. I posted a bunch of links that may be worth looking at in regards to the Porter Cable dual action polisher. It is at least worth a look.
