are 94-95 cobra computers thats BADD???

i keep hearing that 94-95 cobra computers are terrible? Iv also heard that 94-95 GT computer are way better then the cobra's? I know alot of people say a chip is a waste of $$$ for a basicly stock 5.0 but the cobra has GT40 heads, a cobra upper and lower and rollerrockers with a "revised" camshaft, so it would have to benefit a cobra somehow right???? and no i am not looking to buy a tweecer or anythign liek that just looking to maybe swpa computers or another chip thanks.

No. Just the oposite. The cobras are better. They adjust better to larger cams than the GT ones do. Use the 94/95 cobra, or might as well use an a9l. What size cam are you using? With a stock motor don't expect to see anything different.

yeah i figured so i have the stock cobra cam shaft although i cant find specs anywhere for it(really dont care either) all i cna find out about it is that it has a "revised" cam init, i think it supposedly was fomr a cougar/t-bird? but i woudl think they would be the same anyways, i can really feel the car kick the timing back shifting second so tomorrow im going ot check my timing and bump it up to 12 degress, i do alot of stop and go driving so the motor always stays a little warm so im not going to go higher, besides this isnt my racecar

With that being said I'm gonna think you have no intrest in self tuning your Stang.

I would advise you to build your combo without trying to pick parts that would work better with your pcm. Pick the parts that will give you the performance you want and desire.

At some point in time when building your combo either drivability or finding the last few percent of max power will be the motivating force for a custom tune. Go with a chip supported by knowledgable people and don't even look back.

BTW, knowledgable people can make ANY pcm do what you want and need with whatever combo you might put together.

I was told this Crane Cams camshaft was identical to the Cobra camshaft:

Mackey, Cobra computers are definitely not "better." You are correct in saying they adjust better to larger cams, but they actually have less aggressive timing and fuel curves. The tune I'm currently running with my twEECer is basically the J4J1 Cobra computer with the T4M0 GT computer timing and fuel curves(with other adjustments, of course). You are all correct in saying that a tune or computer should be the last mod, however.

ya that crane cam is actually a pretty Hot cam, not like the cobra at all, the slightly smaller Crane 2031 is actually a great street cam for the 94-95 cars, due to its good LSA.
