Are 98v6 parts swappable with fox bodies?

Hey everyone,

I've got a 98 v6 mustang with an automatic and 4 wheel ABS. The drivetrain and engine are all still in very good condition, but the body is shot. I also have an 89 Lx Sport 5.0 with an AOD. All stock except for exhaust. Many of the suspension parts are going to need replacement, so I was wondering if any of the parts from the 1998 v6 could be swapped onto the fox body platform.

I'd appreciate some help, I know alot of guys have probably tried something like this before.

You can use the front brakes but it will widen the track. You can also use the rear axle to get discs and 5 lug. Will also be wider though. Not sure there in anything wlse usefull.

you can use all the brake stuff like stated earlier.
the trans will probably work, but you might need to make some swaps to make it work (ie clutch fork,etc).

I was wondering about that... I have plans for the 5 lug conversion, but didnt want to pay the $$ for the kit. Can anyone give more specific info on how to swap the brakes over?

And as far as the tranny, that would be great if I could swap it . I currently have the AOD in the 89, but what would be in the 98 v6?? Of course it's the stock Automatic, so hopefully I could use that in my fox.

What about the springs and shocks? Any way those could be installed onto the fox body?

Springs and shocks can be installed, but i dont know how much better they are going to be off a stock v6 car.

Dont the v6 cars have a 7.5 inch rear end though?

Yeah, the 98 v6 does have a 7.5 rear end.

The 89 5.0 is in need of shocks and springs, and the 98 v6 shocks/springs are in very good condition...
