are Edelbrock heads good?

Yes, very good heads. Not the best by any means, but very nice for the money. With the right cam and intake they are easy 300+HP peices. Depends on what you're after. How much power do you want to make? How many other modifications are you willing to fart around with to get your heads to work? Does it have to pass emissions? How much can you spend? Provide those details and you'll get more replies than you know what to do with.

well right now im willing to do h/c/i and toss a paxtox nova 2000 on it and then some of the normal things i just had to ask about them heads since i here alot of talk about the gt-40 heads but never hear edelbrock head being mentioned but im not sure how to know what cam or intake to use with what head dont know the differences and what they will do

I have Edelbrock Performer 5.0 heads. The heads alone dropped over 1/2 second at the track. And my mile per hour went way up. They pull really hard top end, now I need a good cam and intake. The quality on the heads is great, I would reccomend them to anyone.:nice:

I'am not trying to be rude or mean at all but that time in your sig is that with the Edlebrock heads? I run a 13.4@101 with stocks heads GT40 and e cam, stock gear also but with a 1.9 60'. It seems like that trap should at least be a few mph higher. Maybe something is wrong if indeed that time is with those heads. Again, just something I noticed. :)

.... Operator error :D

Edlebrock makes some nice heads, especially their entire Victor Jr. line of products. You RARELY ever hear of someone badmouthing a Edlebrock product, they have been around for years and have always put out top notch products. They CHEVY guys love em. Good luck

Most guys talk about the gt-40 head because its a cheap and somewhat bang for the buck head. If you have the funds, you would defeintly want to look into a high performance Aluminum head with a Blown application.

I have over 100k miles on my Edelbrocks (older model, installed late '98) and they're holding up great with. They definately don't put up the numbers the AFR's do but I don't think they were even around at the time. I've been lucky enough to not run into the problems that've been reported. Supposedly the new design is even better. When I get around to stroking the 5-speed I'll most likely try the AFR 185s and maybe have the Edelbrocks put on my AOD.

Well, I don't have a cam and the intake is a ported TMOSS lower and the stock mass air meter, so the heads and heders are really the only thing helping. Also if you look at my 60' time it SUCKS. Like sirsureshot39 mentioned operator error, I don't go to the track much so I don't get to practice often. :nice:

I have a set of the Performer RPM's on my 90. They pretty good. The quality is outstanding and they last too. As far as performance- they "OK". If your looking for power TW's or AFR's would serve you better.

Yeah, the most common Edelbrock heads people seem to get is the Performer 5.0 (60379) with the pedestal mount rocker arm style. The ones I'm going to get for my combo I haven't seen on anyone else's car. The Performer RPM with stud mount style and non emissions legal. (60229)......I hope they're good, lol ;) nah, I've done plenty of research over the past few years and those are the ones that best suit my needs

i love mine.. with the right cam and intake they really flow good, especially in the high rpms.. i made 300 at the wheels with mine, and i got the most basic performer heads that eldelbrock makes
i got the most basic Edelbrocks and I love them...anything edelbrock makes is good

I have edelbrock heads and i love them. I am sure that i could get more power out of them if they are ported a bit. I would love a set of AFR heads, but i think that i would rather spend the $400 difference vs the afr heads on some porting.

Go Edelbrock!

Edelbrock Peformer RPM,Trickflow Track Heat,AFR 185,and FRPP Z304 heads are the best street/strip heads in my opinion.I've heard about Pro Topline heads, are these an good? But as for the subject, yes Edelbrock heads are nice.
