Are Mach I shocks better than stock 98??

Hey kids,

I understand that the Mach shocks are made by Tokico. Is that right?

Are they better (ride or firmness) than stock shocks for my 98 Cobra?

Are these shocks stock on an 04 Mach?

yes the stock mach 1 and bullitt shocks are tokico's. Your stock cobra has Koni shocks (I think) which are better, but are probably worn out by now.

hmmm correct me if im wrong but other than the 00R and the 03 cobra having bilsteins the cobras came with the standard ford shocks

Are the Tokicos of highter quality? Different dampening? Different feel?

They are valved to the spring rate of the car they are going on Mach or Bullitt. Using them with other springs/suspensions isn't what they were meant for and they will not perform like they are supposed too.

Just like F-Bodies the non SLP SS shocks were softer than the Z28 since it had a higher spring rate.

Just beacuse these were used on MAchs and Bullitts doesn't make them any better than the ones on GT's.

Tokico's are GAS SHOCKS not the cheap crap that come on stock GT's, so yes they are much better.

This is a tough place to get a definitive answer. I still don't know if I should go with Mach I shocks or good old Pep Boys Monroe Sensatracs. This should be easy shouldn't it?

CHEAP...but I think I've changed my mind. It seems that the rears ARE hydraulic and the fronts are just ho-hum everyday gas struts.

I thought it a good way to get a set of hi perf Tokicos...but I guess you get what you pay for.

Are you really retarded enought to think that the stock shocks that are on a GT which where bought from the cheapest bidder are better than an upgraded performance shock made by a reputable brand name?

The Mach 1 uses a 35mm piston, Tokico valve front strut. In the rear is a 30mm piston, Tokico valve shock. This is far superior to what you have on your 98, but if you really want good shocks, get the adjustable Tokico's...or something that is designed for your car and its spring rates...

I believe I may try the Mach shocks on the Cobra now...unless Mama kicks down some more allowance money before I buy...

Well, You asked. The GT shocks are just like the OEM Tokico as far as what they are filled with.
