I took pictures of my pistons and was wondering if you guys could tell the difference whether or not they cast, hyper, or forged. Also what CC do you guys think the valve releifs are?

Definately cast, could be either hypers or std cast. Better scratch your nitrous dreams.

I posted on my local club forum and someone said I had factory forged rods due to the width of the parting line. Is this true?

Also, what is a good way of telling whether or not the pistons is hyper or cast?

All Ford pushrod V8's and others ( 4's and 6's) used forged rods. Only the mod motors that I'm aware of are otherwise.

Ditto on the rods. I also agree the pistons look cast/hypereutectic. The bottoms have alot of contours and detail. Forgings usually are simple and fairly thick. Most commonly used forged pistons are also made by a namebrand that in many cases puts the oversize on the crown.

If it makes you feel any better, there was a person on the Corral that split a supercharged roller 302 block from Kragen, but didnt break any of the cast pistons.
