Are power window motors rebuildable?

My driver's side window motor died. I happened to have a spare for my right rear quarter window so I just swapped the gear boxes and I'm good to go. Can I rebuild the old motor that gave out? I've gotten good at replacing the bushings and all, but can anything be done for the actual window motor itself? Or is it toast?

I could be but is it worth it? When they can be had cheaply.

might as well give it a shot. Take it apart and see if the brushes can be cleaned or replaced, it seems like that is the most common point of failure for electric motors

That's what I thought Doc. I'll tear it apart and check it out. It's more fun to tear stuff apart when you know it's already broke. We'll see what I come up with.
