Awhile back I thought I read somewheres that there are some LT's that fit the stang that let you drop the tranny without taking off the headers.Ive been looking at mid lengths that I posted about before, but there are more options with LT's.Yeah I know ive posted alot of questions about several things but I plan to do all this through out the year and wanna get it all right the first time or try to.

Yeah I thought I read that it was either Kooks or Hooker, been tooo long ago that I read it,I know Kooks are good but dunno much about hooker.I figured here isnt this best place to find out about them if it is one of them.I think most here run BBK,JBA,Bassani,Mac.I really wouldnt mind spending a lil more to keep from taking them out if I needed to,knowing my luck as soon as I put LT's in...the tranny would have to come out...sometimes I think Murphey's Law works overtime on me.

I have BBK L/T's. Knowing the trans must come out if needed...I bought a brand new T45 and a new CFDF clutch and PP. I had my installer put it all in at one time.

yeah i have BBK LTs but from all the other ppl i kno that have had to deal with them to get the trans out all they had to do was separate the headers a little and have someone drop the trans...it sounds like a bad thing to do to ur headers but apparently it works and its less time consuming...im about to put a centerforce clutch and flywheel in and thats wat im going to have to do unfortunatly...u need like 2 ppl to spread the headers and however many to drop the trans and one to hold the light

Oh I understand that it would be best to replace it all and not have to worry about it.I just had the tranny rebuilt, flywheel resurfaced, new Ram clutch kit,Steeda cable/quardrant/firewall adjuster, and with all the being done I can guarantee you with my luck as soon as I put LT's on i will have to drop that tranny. .Well actually i just did the tranny begining of March and just took it back up to the shop that did it and they will be getting it back wed. since 3rd gear has gotten a mild whine to it while under normal acceleration....now see what I mean with my luck.I really would rather go with BBK Lt's but the JBA mid lengths sound good too.so i dunno yet,im trying to get as much info as I can before I really do this since this is my first stang and ford. Before it was always Z28's and TA's,not anymore tho,I really love the stang much better.

Oh and it takes 1 person to drop tranny and hold the light + 1 floor jack, all my friends are too lazy to help.....lol

If you dont mind scratching the crap out of your headers, you can pull the tranny with MAC's installed. I did
it a few months ago.

I have Hookers and the transmission comes out fine. Can't say I'm a big fan of the slip joints on the driver's side header. They leak a little and it's nearly impossible to completely seal them up. I'll probably get Kooks next time.

Bassani mid lengths allow to drop the trans, Hooker headers and MAYBE Kooks.

I like bassani's but far as I know only x pipes will fit.
For the price of the Hookers I wouldnt think they would leak, not that I doubt what your saying.

And as for the Mac's I really know nothing about, how do they sound compared to JBA,Bassani,or BBK.Do you mean they scratched them for having to force them or just that close?

I actully made a few calls today to car lots to see if I could find any '01-'04 GT's or any Mach's,if I can find any for a good price and a different color besides black I may just trade off...im diabled now for the last 2yrs and just cant keep up with black to keep it looking good,so im kinda holdin off on everything for a lil while, that old lady that goes by my house everyday in the Mach 1 has me kinda itching for one... Thx for the help, its still gonna help me out even if I trade off.I actually missed out on a '02 silver gt w/29k miles going for 11k at a nearby country ford stealership, not a blemish on it,but someone already had dibs..
