Are these extras needed with Clutch?

Ive read posts about how the throwout bearings that come with clutch kits are no good and you nned to buy a different one, and how you need to scrap the throwout bearing retainer and buy a steel one, and buy a different pilot bearing -- cuz they are no good either,,,

So If I was to buy a King Cobra Clutch kit -- should I buy all of these extras?

The clutch kit should come with the t/o bearing. You don't need thread sealer, use blue loctite. Arp starter bolts are unnecessary and the bearing retainer on your trans may already be steel, I forget exactly.

I recommend the steel bearing retainer. It will reduce flexing of bearing retainer (stock is aluminum) under hard shifts and clutch releases. A good decision if your clutch is better than stock. I agree with you dont need ARP starter bolts. I dont remember you putting in a rear main seal. Since you are replacing flywheel bolts it is a good idea.

The alum retainers gall (as stated, GT's had alum retainers).

Otherwise, you might not need any of that stuff. Most of the time you can reuse your old dowels, bolts, pivot, etc.

Don't forget the RMS. If yours leaks a lot, I'd replace it.

I'm going through a clutch change now 'cause my throwout bearing has gone bad. From what I've read, replacing the t/o bearing is good insurance, same with the pilot bearing. If they go bad, you'll just have to take it all apart again just for a bearing. The rear main seal is also a good idea too, especially if it hasn't been replaced before. Think of it as preventative maintenance.
