Are these good tires? Good price?

I need to know if these are good tires at a good price, I currently am running 255/55's in the back and they are too big - they rub the tailpipes on corners and are very close to the tires. So i think 245/45's will be a good fit.

I don't know why in the hell you want to get smaller tires so your exhaust won't rub. I have 3.5" tip with very little rubbing on exhaust with 275/40/17 on the back. And I still have a traction problem and wish I had got 295's. If you are putting out any power at all I would not get smaller tieres. JMO

Well I need smaller tires because I would like to go around corners and not rub, it has been rubbing bad on the freeway around bends. I dont want wheel spacers, I have heard bad things about them. I just ordered 2 of those tires, I think its a great deal.

yeah I don't see how people have problems w/ rubbing on exhaust either...my 275/50/15's rub the inner fender if I turn very sharply, but not the tail pipes...there's no way possible for mine to rub the exhaust, it's too far away.

But anway...I do have a question:

would tires that have been sitting in a warehouse be bad? I mean they're not on the car undergoing stress while the car sits, so what's really bad about it?

Maybe the lx pipes are different? I dont know but I had some old 2 1/2 tailpipes that rubbed the tires, And I just put new 2 1/2 flowmaster tailpipes on and they do the same thing. Edit: I see you have a lx too, I dont know why my pipes are so close to the tires.....

Yeah I got those tires in 225's on my car they look like they are 255's and they hook great, but I got to admit, in the rain dont drive it, I can spin the tires in 4th no prob at pretty much any speed, and it scares the crap out of me.

Those are VERY nice tires. They are made specifically for dry conditions and they are a high performance tire. They arent made to be run in the rain. I would expect great traction even with a 245 and also amazing grip. Those tires normally go for about 150 a piece in that size! Pretty much the best tires BFG has for this application, i think. My personal experience is that BFG is the best tire you can buy!

My dad had those on his mach 1, they were a few years old and had been sitting around before he put them on. They we're worthless because they had hardened after sitting for only a few years.
That's not worthless. That's a radial tire. Tires are not meant to be stored, under pressure on a car. It is recommened, atleast in FL weather, to replace your tires every 3 years at least because of the chance of dry rotting. Michelin was the only company to offer longer then 3 years warranty for rotting, and it was 7 but under "normal weather conditions" which didn't fit into Florida's hot weather.
