I have the chance to buy a set of cast gt40p heads for $500, They have a couple of burnt valves but other than that are complete and in good shape and have already been ported. Are they worth it?

Ive seen them much less than that....guess it depends on the value of the port job, but I personally wouldnt do it knowing they need valve work.

That sounds kind of high for a head that also requires a special header and every aluminum head out there will outperform them.

The last time I checked, GT40p heads were only $600 a pair brand new, completely assembled and all. $500 for used heads with burnt valves ain't no deal.

DEFINETLY NOT A DEAL!

Corral and Ebay has them for sale for about $300 a pair in better condition. I think you can get a set of GT40 (not Ps) that wont require a special header for just over $600 brand spankin new!
