I love it when someone else does all the work for me. I probably should change the plugs before I take my car in for the tune. I have found chatgpt to give dubious information at times. It's reading all the misinformation people put on forums, and presents it as a fact. When I was a parts manager I knew how cross plugs like a king. It's a skill set I have lost. I have to have my plugs gapped at like .030" for the nitrous.

Yes. You gotta know enough to know when it's taking you down the path of BS.
Yep. I traded like I treat messages from anybody I'm reading for the first time in the forums. It's a good starting place but validation and ultimate responsibility lands on the person doing the research.

One more note for anyone who's considering the 5671a type plugs that I mentioned, they don't have a resistor, and maybe that's why Grover's tack jumps around sometimes. I don't have that problem in Father time because it has a race pack Dash. I don't know that that's what's causing it but when I read about the lack of a resistor the other night, it occurred to me.

I always ask chatgpt "where did you find this?" I often get a dubious answer.

This might help you too: You can give it instructions to remember about where [not] to source.

I have a whole list with bookface and reddit; right at the top. I review it periodically to ensure it remembers.

Well all 72 plugs showed up and look good. Packaging was less than stellar but they made it.

I wouldn't go colder than 8. It's pretty damn cold and equivalent to 3922 or so. I'm running a 3923 in my daily with a 150 wet shot. Your compression and tune of course play into this, so of course read the plugs and give the car what it wants. Now back to your question, I asked chatGPT the other night for the same thing and the answer was no. If you find something else, let me know too. That said, it looks like it's either projected tip streetcar type plug, or race plug.

Does NGK make a resistor type, non projected, gasket seat spark plug in the 8 or 9 cold range for TFS 11R heads? Or, what heat range is appropriate for a 200hp dry shot on a progressive controller?
I run 9s in my motor , 20511r heads

NGK5238

R5671A-9

NGK heat ranges work backward so if you wanted a little warmer plug -8 or -7

Colder would continue to go up in number. These are non resistor though.

Have you guys confirmed 9s are right by the temp transition point on the ground strap? I think the 8s are a pain to keep from fouling for street use.

No issues with mine - it does see 18-20 psi on the street though. I’ve ran these since I put the 20511r headed version in my car so about 7 years now
