Arkansas Thread

i'm here to stay. theres more activity here than any other regional forums.

on another note, who all is going to be at the track for sure saturday? somethings come up and i may not be able to go. a friend of mine from the base is leaving for Japan for good and some of my old co-workers are throwing him a going away bash. it doesnt start until 7:30, but its in little rock and they want me to be there when it starts. i still want to be there, but if i do i'll have to head to the track when they open at 4 and leave around 6ish. sorry, but this guys a good pal and i probably wont see him again after this weekend.

hey brandon, it's all good man.. We're gonna be around here, your buddy isnt. I say, go see your buddy and take care of that business because you never know when you're going to see him again! :flag: You're gonna see us every weekend.. and me on a daily basis as of the beginning of the year... WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT hahahaha :rlaugh:

If you wanna come up there at 4, then I'll go up there with ya and we can work on our launches before everyone else gets there :D

I'm pretty sure (as of now) that I will be heading up there but it wouldn't be till later on. Closer to 6:30 or so. Brandon, do what you got to do:nice:
i will. we used to run engines (not the internal combustion type ;) ) together on night shift at the base for over a year, so needless to say he's a good friend. its just funny how military related stuff is still finding a way to keep me from having fun after im already out. dont get me wrong, this guys great and im gonna miss him. but after last weekend ive been itching to get back to the track and work on my launch. i know i the car's capable of at least 11.8 with a good launch and 60' time. hopefully my tuner gets here soon so i can run the performance tune and pick up a little umph. that and my speedo's way off. ive seen it hit over 100 when i know i wasnt doing a hair over 80. the miles just keep piling up.

i just shot them an e-mail. they're located in mississippi, so it cant take too long for shipping. i'll see what they say and go from there.

on a side note, alicia just left for school so now im here all alone with my debit card and the interweb...............................and i need headers.............................

Did you get accepted Jason ?

Helty - thats cool, one less modular to put up with... j/k.. I know what you mean with a debit card and all alone, thats how I ended up needing my intake, tb and adapter. Do it for the speed, glory, and the all american muscle car.... but mostly for the speed. GO SEE YOUR FRIEND. I wish I had seen my best friend leave for the Air Force 5 years ago.. I have only seen him once since then.

I'll be at the track on Saturday, just let me know when we are all going to meet there (or meet here for the drive). I may be out a little Friday night letting my computer adjust to the new mods.

im gonna go see him, but im really thinking about heading to the track early and getting a few runs in. i want to get an 11.xx before i leave. if i cant do it with my street tires, the next mods are moser 31 splines, eaton/auburn/frpp differential and some Nitto 555 or 555R's. God i love modding.

If you're talkin about UCA, then no not yet Dustin. I'm going to take my official transcript to them Friday afternoon when I go up to Conway. I filled out the application online and called yesterday to see what the status was and they said they didn't even have it in their computer! :bang: Their person who is in charge of that stuff has been gone for a few days and just got back, so if it hasnt turned up by Friday, then I will just turn in my written application that I got from the University when I went up there the first time. I really don't see why I wouldn't be accepted, i'll have a high enough GPA and only be having my basics, so i'll have plenty of classes to take up there. I really wanna move up there tho!! :D

You should go with the Nitto DR's for sure man, the rest of that stuff sounds good to me :nice: You'll be hookin and goin then! If you REALLY wanna spend some money, you could always order BBK LT's for me :D haha j/k!!

Helty - Just get the drag radials right now and that will be plenty of traction for you...the other "goodies" aren't really needed at your power level so I would spend it on some longtubes or other bolt-ons:nice: Have fun...

Dustin, what are your predictions...

Just a few more weeks until I get some longtubes and soem other things fixed...I can't wait. I got my tires aligned/balanced so that is atleast 50rwhp...

I'm not sure how it'd hold up with 4.10's and DR's honestly, but then again i'm not a genius haha..

You just gotta put more power on that car so you can put some of us in the dirt even worse, dont ya david? :D j/k! Too bad you won't be able to run Saturday, but that might take some competition away from the group :p

I cant wait for saturday! I'm soo anxious to take that car back out there.. i really wanna see an 11.4X pass this weekend, I know it's got it in it.. i just know it!

Does everyone want to meet up before we go out there or just meet up whenever we show up out there?

you dont think i'd be comprimising the rear end with DR's and 4.10s? dont wanna break anything cuz its my dd.

I run Dr's on a rearend that has 163k and drive it pretty hard overall. I don't have any clue when the last time the rear end was maintained.

I wouldn't even worry about it one bit on your car. This isn't an ls1 where there 10-bolt breaks like a twig in the fall time:bang:

The 8.8 will easily take it. I haven't ever heard of a problem from just Dr's and 4:10's...

Get them:nice:

I'm thinking of just heading up there (closer if I just go to the drag strip first). I might head to r-ville to...will see. I'll let you all know sat. afternoon (about 3:15) if I'm going or not on here:)

Well, not necessarilly what I predict. I know what the car is capable of because my convertible ran a 11.58 with the same mods (except with 3.55). If I can get one good run in without my 2nd gear syncronizers screaming at me then I expect 11.5 or below. The lower gear ratio in this car with the screaming mid-range I'll have should put me there easily.

What I wouldn't doubt is by the time I get to the track and stage; my transmission will be warmed up from the drive, my synchronizers will be warmed up and I will pull crappy times and screw up second gear like last time I went.

So what I expect and knowing what it will do I'm sure will be completely different times. :)

I have way more success street racing than at the track.. Not sure why.

Does anyone know the status on the Mach 1 ?

Well.. u gotta take into effect that the more power you put down, the worse traction you'll have.. especially with those 4.30's.. not sayin it cant do that, I have no clue.. just throwin in some trouble that might happen. We should line 'em up, it should be a close one! :nice:

and NO to anyone who thinks i'm talkin chit.. if u think i'm talking ****, u can just think that because i'm not.. just stating an opinion here people.. same as what i've done in all my other posts.. we all have different opinions.. get over it :D

Not necessarily. I know you aren't talking bad about anyone. I didn't have any worse traction in my convertible with the same specs and 3.55's.
