12-15 psi might also be the end of the bottom end of the motor tho  am i right?..

I know the 4.6L's are diff, but they say to go NO MORE than 9lbs on the stock internals

Who said anything 'bout stock internals?

True on the 9psi. I would not even be comfortable running 9psi on stock, but I'm overly cautious. I would run 6# without fear, however.

4u2nv - Well if your going to let us build up the bottomend than that makes a whole different story. I was trying to make as fair (price wise) a comparison as possible. You'll have to pull the heads anyway after you blow them out. 12-15psi is to much on a stock 5.0L. To much air driven pressure to be driving it around without worries IMO. Next time give me a price range and power range were shooting at and see what comparison I come up with. I was keeping it as close to price range as possible to each other.

Brian - For the money you will have left, about your only options are TFS Street or track heat intake. Are you going with different heads eventually. If not I would stick with the TFS street or Cobra intake (they fall at or below that price range for you) and provide good torque and aren't to "flowy". An intake should drop you a consistent tenth or two by it alone.

yeah, I would go with teh TFS Intake.

Also, doing a H/C/I package comes with pushrods that you would need anyway.. here is a list of the TF Track Heat setup..

TFS-51400002 Twisted Wedge Cylinder Heads, pair
TFS-51500001 5.0L Track Heat Intake Manifold, set
TFS-51402000 Hydraulic Roller Camshaft, each
TFS-51400510 Roller Rocker Arms, set of 16
TFS-21406700 Pushrods, set of 16
SUM-G6620 Roller Timing Chain Set, each
TFS-51400904 Gasket Kit, each
TFS-51400801 Silver Valve Covers, pair
Makes 360hp/350tq with 9.5:1 compression, 190lph pump, and 70mm throttlebody (not included)

already got the Intake, elbow and throttle body...this is the kit I am going with, hopefully will be done by tax season

btw, the 86-93 models do not require the elbow adapter

David-only getting 762.00 out of it...but getting the dent fixed and painted for 300 and get upper and lower intake manifold with the 462.00 any suggestions..?

the street heat tf intake is 395 + shipping which is free if you do ground. that is pretty much your only choice.. unless some of the edelbrocks are like that. the typhoon is also similarly priced

edit... i should read the other replies before I repeat someone. haha

I think I'm going to give you newer 4.6 boys a run for the money when I get the mods put on this week. Hopefully see you guys at the track.

you could probably beat me now, let alone give me a run. im still trying to figure out how to launch this mother with the 4.10s. so far i've only managed a 12.3.

Dollar for dollar, a 5.0 has the win because the aftermarket sucks for the 4.6 still.
Don't get me wrong, I loved my 5.0 and would take it back if I had the chance. I should have never gotten rid of it.
12-15 psi is too much for almost any stock setup that is not already configured for forced induction.

I was just joking around :D

I actually have improved my driving 150% since the last few weekends.. 11.54 @ 92 w/a 2.18 60ft... i need to cut a 2.0 or 1.9 60ft tho, i know it can if i launch it right.. that'll prob yeild me an 11.4X or 11.3X run based on how it ran the other night
