I've noticed that the power port in my 06's armrest stays powered up, even when the key is out of the ignition. I thought that the port simply had a time delay, but after checking back several hours later, I still had power.

I have a 3 port adapter that I would like to leave plugged in. The problem is that it has an LCD light that stays on as long as power is supplied. Considering I travel for a week or two at a time and leave my car garaged when I'm gone, I'm worried that the batter will be drained.

Does anyone have any suggestions to cut the power when the key is out of the ignition or not turned to the AUX setting?

Thx

Yes I could unplug it. However I don't want the bother. Most cars don't send power to those ports when the key is out of the ignition. I'm just hoping someone might have a reasonably easy mod to rework this.

how about swaping the wiring for the dash mounted power point and the console one. the dash mounted one cuts power with the ignition, right? that might be the easiest route, but a wiring diagram as well as seing exactly how they are routed in the car would be needed to determine the feasibility.

Dude

I leave an ipod charger conneted all the time, the car is driven only on the weekends and I havn't had any battery problems. The LED uses so little juice you have months of power in that big old battery.

The only reason its a concern is that sometimes I forget. I tend to go on long business trips and I'm worried I might leave it plugged in. I guess I'm used to my last car, a Nissan Murano, you had to have the power turned on at the ignition key to get power....
