Arp Rod Bolts

I ran lean and burned up a set of pistons after 3000 miles in a 408 stroker. The rods and crank are new(Scat H Beam). Can the ARP 8740 rod bolts be used again

It is a bad practice to re-use connecting rod bolts (but you already know that). But I am guessing that if you have a stretch gauge on you that you can zero out the dial indicator on one of the rod bolts and then measure all the rest of the connecting rod bolts. If everything is still the same length, you at least have some technical data to backup your re-use of the bolts. But then again, you just gotta ask yourself if is worth the risk.

Get new bolts it is cheap insurance and you can never be too careful.
