2.80 gears are good for highway driving. The C-4 is a fine automatic.

What do you mean good or bad?

Its great for cruising on the freeway, cause your revs will stay pretty low. The C4 is a strong tranny too.

But what are you going to use the car for? If you want a strip car, you'll want some higher gears.

But if you're just buying the car to drive around, that is a great setup.

My '67 coupe had a very similar setup, and was nice driving on the freeway, as it didnt rev too high.

What 65shelby meant to say was lower gears.

Dolfan: We could get in a hairy debate about what is meant by "high" and "low" ratio. I can explain it two different ways for those who like to play with words.

Wanna play? (I understand the difference nbut MANY are confused on this point)

Let's do it Dave, I probably won't really debate you, but I am interested to hear your side of this.

The C-4 is both of the above, fine and strong.

Enjoy your car.

How FAST do you want to go "to and from school"? From what I know of you, a 2:80 would be just fine. (And that is NOT a flame on you)

Hey SD, is this similar to when people say "then it shifted into overdrive and went really fast", when it actually downshifted to a lower gear? I always love when I hear that one...

Buddah: If you've followed this board, you know that cobain asks lots of questions and that's FINE! Trouble is he often either doesn't read or remember the responses. I've seriously tried to be helpful but I'm at the end of my patience. Therefore I will cease to respond to further questions from him. Someone please help him.
