ok i found a 65 stang for under 3 grand and got the code off of it and was wonderin about the rear axel code. its got a 2.80:1 is this good or bad or does it even matter? aslo its got a c4 dual range auto, is this good?

What do you mean good or bad?

Its great for cruising on the freeway, cause your revs will stay pretty low. The C4 is a strong tranny too.

But what are you going to use the car for? If you want a strip car, you'll want some higher gears.

But if you're just buying the car to drive around, that is a great setup.

My '67 coupe had a very similar setup, and was nice driving on the freeway, as it didnt rev too high.

Dolfan: We could get in a hairy debate about what is meant by "high" and "low" ratio. I can explain it two different ways for those who like to play with words. :D

Wanna play? (I understand the difference nbut MANY are confused on this point)

Let's do it Dave, I probably won't really debate you, but I am interested to hear your side of this. ;)

Buddah: If you've followed this board, you know that cobain asks lots of questions and that's FINE! Trouble is he often either doesn't read or remember the responses. I've seriously tried to be helpful but I'm at the end of my patience. Therefore I will cease to respond to further questions from him. Someone please help him.
