Ashtray Door Spring...grrr...Instructions Anyone?

Man that ashtray door spring is a tough one....have it on after a good bit of time, but the door won't close or open fully.....could it be in backwards or......anyone got any install instructions for the ashtray door spring?

I gave up on that spring a long time ago, it always breaks. I glued a lead flat weight under my ashtray door that keeps it closed, but still allows it to stay open because the way the door is designed, it has that funky counterbalance hinge.

Here are the instructions for the Mavromont ash tray door fix. I bought the kit and it worked like a charm.
