ATTN: Guys who let their cars sit until the weekend...

What's the best way to keep the car running like a pro when you let it sit? I notice on some weekends the gas in mine seems to get old and the car runs like poo.
What do you guys do to keep your cars running strong even though they sit?

You could use a little bit of fuel stabilizer if you can feel the difference in the gas. I've also heard some recommend keeping the gas tank full because it helps prevent the gas from going bad.

I've let mine sit for months at a time and I never fill up the tank more than half way unless I'm going to be driving it a long way. I guess I'm lucky not to feel any major differences in the car.

mine sits like that all the time i run sunoco 94 with a mix of 100 octane in it and it seams to run the same each time i get it out for a weekend cruise , try better gas and see if that helps

keeping the tank full is to keep moisture out.
you should not be varnishing the fuel over the course of 5 days. fuel stabilizer is a good idea. ditto for some injector cleaner. some guys like running heat too.

Mine sits all winter and the only time I had a problem was when it only had a 1/4 tank of gas and I didnt put in any Sta-bil. I filled it up and the surging went away immediately. I dont see why you'd notice a difference if its only sitting 5 days.

I parked mine last august and have only driven it about 3-4 times since then. Every time it runs great. I filled the tank and added some fuel stabilizer from Wal-mart.

I drive my cobra mainly on the weekends in the winter (its Kentucky, cold and wet, but little snow) but all the time in the summer. In the winter I put the 93 octane Shell gas. It seems to have the best time sitting in my tank and I usually dont have a problem with it. Every 4-5 tanks i add some extra fuel stabilzer for good measure and keeping everything clean. Find a good gas, then go from there. Sunoco and Shell are the best ive found. NEVER NEVER NEVER fill you car up at a pump station where a bigass truck is filling the underground tanks. This goes for everyone. The new fuel stirs the tanks and rust gets washed up to the pumps. They have filters but why trust a lazy ass gas station?
