i just got a new 4gage power wire for my new 500w amp, and previously i had my 8 gage just running throgh the fender and then thru the door, but this wire is wayyy to big to do that so where can i run it to get it inside the car?

If you have an auto, you can use the clutch cable hole.

if not, make your own. I made a couple new holes above the steering shaft and over a little. Just be real careful about drilling to make sure you dont drill through anything.

A stepped drill bit (Unibit) can make quick work of such holes. Dont forget the grommet.

Good luck.

If you look at your firewall, you will see all sorts some parts where wires, or your steering shaft go through, and there surrounded by rubber. Go through those.... thats where wires are actually meant to go through. Rather than drilling a hole through it, just take an exacto blade and put a little slit in it. That way the rubber can seal around it

If you use the steering grommet, be sure to tie the wires up really really good (you dont want them to tangle with the pedals). That is why I dont recommend it, but it does work.

just like they said theres a few options, but what ever you do DO NOT run the wire thru your fender to the door, you ever pinch the wires you can cause some serious damage. Buddy worked in a few Shops, seen it so many times....guys complaing blowing fuses like crazy, even seen guys who didnt fuse the line. Best thing go thru the firewall. Its thin guage so drilling wont be hard. and use the grommet, vibration and what not can cause that metal to cut thru the plastic coating of the wire after a while. and I always fuse both sides of the wires, Some only do one side....for a few bucks more...id rather be safe then sorry.... just my .o2
