I have a 96 gt which im assuming that it has the 4r70w right? Anyway i have hooker longtubes and they clear the trans but i was wondering if i can pull the trans with them still in? cause im buying a used trans for $100 and just going to buy parts here and there and then have it rebuilt and then install it myself to save on the labor to put it in/take it out.

I'm pretty sure you can't, IIRC there really isn't a set of LTs that you can drop the tranny with out pulling one of the headers off.

Well that sucks. Is it just that you cant get to all the bolts or something? I would hate to have to drop my k-member to loosen them enough to get it out, really wish my trans didnt start messin up on me haha. Well atleast when i had them put on i saw what needed to be move and the bolts were replaced so atleast everything has been loosened so it will be easier for me haha. I think the worst part will be the motor mounts.

I think has to do with the headers coming so close to the trans that you cant drop it without it hitting the headers.

Yea i have hooker headers which do clear the auto but i went under my car today and looked and if the sides of the trans are the widest part then it looks like i will be able to get it out cause it looks like i have a few inches on each side. Im about to call holley up and talk to them and see if they know for sure or not.
