auto/manual eec-iv interchange ?

I cant remember which way it works.....can you use an automatic-intended eec-iv computer on a stick shift application or not? I thought i better check before wiring the L1C 91 cougar HO 5.0 automatic computer into my HO 5.0 stick shift ranger. If it will work, do I need to wire in anything more than the VSS for the computer to read transmission input? Thanks!

For AOD cars, you can go back and forth with some rewiring.

For AODE cars, it's best to use the stick puter so you dont have a hesitation when the car would have shifted the AODE.
