Auto Mechanic/Fundamentals Book

I have been looking for a good book on Auto Fundamentals or Mechanics, maybe like a text book or something? Have any ideas? I am looking for something more than my M&FF mag or 5.0 mags, and definently more than my Haynes or Chiltons manual, those things can be crap sometimes. This book would be general in application not necc for the stang motor.

that was the textbook we used when i went to tech school. actually the author was our teacher.

i studied almost everything about a car/truck on that site. i also did 2 years of automotive mechanic classes in high school. i also went into the air force and became a jet engine mechanic. worked out for me
