auto to manual swap

my friend found a 94 gt w/140k w/a bad auto tranny but the interior is in great shape and so is the rest of the car for $1400 he really wants a five speed but he figured because it would need a new transmission he might as well put a five speed in it but before he bought the car he was wondering how much it would cost for the swap ive seen t-5's in good shape from $600 to $800 but i dont know how much else he would need, how much it would cost to do the swap and how difficult it would be

mine cost about 1600 with fresh rebuilt t5 with slightly stronger 2nd/3rd gear, aluminum flywheel, mgw short shifter, bellhousing, KC clutch, shift boot, blockplate, and other misc lil things

as mentioned, it can be done cheaper, but the above list is just an idea
