Greetings, As mentioned, the '66 200 idles fine, no missing, clean colorless exhaust, but tries to stall upon attempting to accelerate. The 1100 Autolite 1-V was recently "rebuilt." I can choke the barrel with my hand or by rotating the choke plate to almost closed and it will rev up as requested. Open the barrel and it gags as if it's run out of fuel. Leave it alone and it returns to smooth idle. We've disassembled the carb and found minor fine particles in the fuel bowl, cleaned and reassembled. The accelerator pump is newly rebuilt, once again, very fine particles (rust?) found in those ports as well as vacuum line to distributor, all thoroughly cleaned. Fuel to the bowl is perfect. Those fine particles aside, why will it run at idle but die upon asking for power? Thank you for your consideration.

Have you installed an inline fuel filter before the carb??
Usually when you get a bog, its due to no fuel and all air...... I would check for vacuum leaks first off
Did you set your fuel floats correctly? Just a 1/16 th of an inch off can create problems''
Did you remove all of the jets and visually check them?? Sometimes some really small holes in the jets will be hard to see.. Shine a light at one end and look in the other end...... Takes a sewing needle to clean them... Did you blowout all of the orifices with compressed air, or some carb clean using the straw that comes with a can, when you had the jets removed?
Have you checked your fuel pump? Take off the fuel line to the carb, put it in a large container ( milk gallon, or a bucket) and have someone crank over the engine to see if its pumping gas....

Thank you for your response. We've installed a clear inline filter before the fuel pump in addition to the OEM filter connected to the carb. Cleaned what we had access to with carb cleaner and compressed air to the point where we saw no contaminants anywhere the fuel could be "sampled." Haven't adjusted the floats...I'll measure. Fuel pump is working fine, as I've said it idles smoothly and runs without interruption at low RPM until attempting to accelerate. I'll check the float. Thanks.

Checking for vacuum leaks and float level is a good idea, as noted above. It still sounds like it could be an accelerator pump issue. Was it properly adjusted?

Thanks for your response Realmongo. I'm not aware of a way to adjust the accelerator pump. Simple design with four mounting screws, a diaphragm and spring. We've found that the 4th and 5th cylinders are not firing, afraid it might be a valve issue. I'd prefer not to pull the head but we'll do a compression and leak test to see if we've got a valve problem. Might be blowing fuel out into the exhaust port on compression stroke.

Found two bent push rods under the valve cover. Looks like the head will be coming off in search of cause. Depending on what we find we may be enroute to a complete rebuild. A 200 inline 6 seems to have become a fairly rare find...always somethin'
