Guys plz help me out here, im in the process of getting me another stang but i dont know if to go for 5 speed or auto. Yes it will be used daily and in a very busy city with alot of traffic. But also i will be preping up this car for a little extra power, i think the smartest thing would be to go auto but will it be big diffrence in power? If i go auto im gonna go with a gears shift kit and maybe torqueconverter. So what do you guys suggest?

an auto with gears, a shift kit and a TC can be quite fast. You wont get the same rush you getting hammering the gears yourself but they are very consistant. And a good torque converter will free up some of the power the stock AODE sucks up. I dont even have a torque converter or a shift kit but I am pretty happy with my cars performance. It's fast enough to run with stock 99 on up GT's with 5 speeds. And I havent done a whole lot as far as HP mods.

For convience(sp?) purpuses I would build a nice auto. Exactly what you have in mind gears/tq converter/shift kit/tranny cooler and you'll be good to go.

I like my AODE alot. If you are planning on keeping the car stock though, a stock AODE Mustang is pretty slow, usually in the mid-low 15 second range.

5-speed with gears... more power, more fun, better mileage, and cheaper than the route you planned with the auto...

But I am a 5-speed guy...

For the cost of modding the auto (TC's are $$$) I would say to go with a tremac 600...

In the last 3 years I have owned two 95 GT's, the auto I have now and a 5-spd one I sold. Personally, I liked the 5-spd much better. It was more fun to drive, but the mainly I liked the 5-spd more because you could feel the car's torque much better.

The auto has many positives though. It's easy in traffic, consistant, can be built to be very fast for some $$$, and it can handle much more power stock v.s. stock when compared to a t-5.
The transgo kit made my car more enjoyable to drive and more responsive also. However a stock motor, stock aode car with no converter, shift kit or gears is a dog.
