Is there any way to get the automatic temperature control option without getting the navigation system?

I really think NAV systems are useless in cars nowadays and really don't want to pay for it. I also really want auto temperature control in my next car.

Thanks for your time. I'm a newbie around here.

Hi JaxxnateNH,

Welcome to the forum! Currently, automatic temperature control is only available with the Electronics Package, which includes Voice-activated Navigation System, as that has the ability to control it. The Navigation system is definitely more advanced than a basic GPS. Check out all the features here - http://www.Ford.com/cars/Mustang/features/#page=Feature21

Keep me posted on your shopping adventures!

Sorry to hijack a thread but in my 2011 this is one option I wish, wish, wish, wish I would have gotten... but is there a way to retrofit a stock Ford navigation system in? I only have the shaker 500 (I know the shaker 1,000 is not compatible with the navigation)

I'm sure that you could get one but my question would be... Why?

Go over to Crutchfield.com and look at their navigation head units. There more flavors of head units out there with every kind of bell and whistle you could possibly think of having. Pay careful attention to how these units are updated. Some, you can just go to their site and download the updates to a chip clip. Others are a royal pain in the ass and you have to have an update CD/DVD shipped to you for an exorbitant fee (i.e. Garmin powered Kenwood). The thing that I really like about ordering from them is that they usually toss in all the adapters and install kits etc., that you need to complete the job.

I just upgraded the head unit in my wife's 06 (she wanted Ipod integration from a head unit that didn't require an astrophysics degree to operate). I think I hit the mark! I got her one that has the one-button multifunction knob. Once I got it setup, it was gravy.

So anyway, all my rambling comes down to this... Check the aftermarket before running off and promising your first born to Rumpelstiltskin for the installation of the factory unit.

Why? Well after seeing all the built in functionality of the Ford navigation. Including the temp control etc. I'm convinced that no aftermarket system can do the same thing. Also whatever that sig video is its frigging awesome!!!!! I want

Granted, you're not going to get the temp control function from an aftermarket unit but I'm guessing that there's more to that system than just the control unit.

Check with Ford, but I still think there's more to that auto temp control than what's in that console.

I specifically shopped for a Mustang with the Nav option, wanting everything factory. Coming from a 2001 BMW 5 Series that had one electrical gremlin after another popping up over the years, all caused by improperly wired aftermarket electronics. It was the main impetus for me to trade it in for the Mustang
