I have a Mustang GT 2000 auto tranny and have allways dreamed of having it manual. My wife doesnt drive manual... (not yet). It is just a question of time because i have convinced her to swap the tranny for a manual.

Now, to make a long story short, i have looked at a local salvage yard and they have a Mustang GT 2002 (from USA, Im from Canada) with 30000Miles approx on it. They agreed to sell me the tranny, computer, shaft, clutch, pedals etc etc for 1800.00 Can Dollars.

Question 1o you guys think that everything will fit in my car even if its a 2002 an my mustang is of year 2000.

Question 2: I know i dont have to change the computer, i can have the original computer fixed by Fordchip for example to remove the function that works with the auto tranny. But by reading couples of posts regarding this issue, i think that lots of peoples have problems with like, overdrive light flashing in the dash, or the car not starting at all once the swap done... Would i avoid all these problems if i change the computer along with the tranny. Since the computer i will install was born with a manual tranny, would this avoid me all kind of trouble. I also know that i will have bring the car to the dealer if i change the computer because the car wont start without flashing it (or something like that)

Question 3: Since this car is from USA, and my car is from Canada, is there any reasons i shouldnt buy this car because of parts that could be differents because they were sold into different country ?

I have called Ford with the serial number of the car and they said that the owner never made any warranty call on this car. So i assume it was working well before he had an accident.

Thanks guys, waiting for your response.

I always dreamed of having a 5 spd in my car. Then one day I discovered high stall converters and valve bodies. Now, I don't think I'd ever want a 5 spd....all things being equal, I'm a bit faster than manuals now.

There are some well known problems with the T45/3650 trannys. You might want to look for something like a TKO or T56.
