Automatic Tranny Problem

Hey guys,
My 2000 v6 auto is incredibly hard to get into gear. The shifter is very stiff and when i get it to the gear it wont go into gear until i pull it back past the spot a little more. Any ideas on how to fix this. I wil take it to a trans shop, unless i can figure it out myself.

try messin with the linkages maby lube the aswell
