Automatic what kinda mods to do?

So what would be the difference in the J mod as opposed to firming up the shifts with a tuner such as the Xcal2? is there a difference? can you do both or is one better than the other, anyone with experience from one or the other or both i would like to hear from?

obviously a tranny cooler is required if doing one of these. or i would hope that that would be an item on your shopping list when messing with an auto tranny.

as was said above, as well as use Amsoil Mercon V fluid. also get the E150 pan. its a deeper sump and has a drain plug in it. heres the part number F8UZ-7A194-AA

also consider putting in an inline trans filter. when you do drop the pan, put in a new screen filter.

With a tuner, you can undo the mod. And you can keep adjusting the shift firmness as many times as you want until you find the settings you like. With the jmod, you're done. Unless you crack the transmission open again and almost do the jmod all over again.

If it was me, I would do in this order:

1) J-mod and Tranny Cooler, flushed and refilled with Mercon V
2) Torque Converter
3) Handheld flasher unit

You forgot gears.....

cantslowdown...

If it's going to be a while until you get the Jmods, do this:

Trans cooler
Programmer and 4.10's (assumingyou're going to stay N/A)

Then you can do the T/C and the JMod once the tranny is all opened. No sense opening it up twice and filling fluid twice.
