Hey guys,

Just recently bought an Autometer Cobalt Air/Fuel Gauge (yes i know, light show) but I really like the way it looks...

anyways, I had a phantom gauge wired before this and it worked fine... today I put in the Cobalt gauge but the blue lettering does not light up? It only has 3 wires (red, black, and purple) and I know the purple goes to the o2 and the black goes to the ground... but does the red have to go somewhere special now???

If so, if you have one or know, can you please tell me how I need to re-wire this gauge to get it to actually light up? It sweeps fine with the purple, it works just fine but the lettering does not light up...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

BTW its for a 2004 GT

The directions should say where that wire goes to. If you lost the directions, Autometer's website has them all for download.

Yea, thats where it gets confusing...

the autometer directions that came with the gauge do not mention the extra 4th white wire that wires to the 12v dash lighting...

BUT, the same directions online at autometer.com mention that my exact model number should have a white wire!?

Mine came with a white wire for the lighting, the red wire pluged into the ignition. I have a cobalt tach. and vac./boost gauge and all of them had white wires for lighting. If yours doesnt then there is something wrong with it.

I bought mine down at Fun Ford Weekend from an AutoMeter vendor. Where did you get yours from? Did you buy it used?
