Hi,

I just purchased a AutoMeter elec. engine oil temp gauge (pro comp ultra-lite).
The sending unit is supposed to replace the factory oil-drain-plug, but it doesn't fit. AutoMeter provided two adapter-pieces, but none of them had the correct thread size.

I live in Germany, so for me it is not as easy as for you to go to the next speed shop or anywhere else to get the right adapter. Everythings metric here, too. The OEM-plug is 13.2mm in diameter, what's this in imperial units?

Anyone has a solution for me (instead of ripping off the oil pan and get the sender welded in)?

BTW: here's a picture where I mounted the gauges. It is a self-fabricated pod made of an old radio-bezel, which I cutted and coated.

Blumi

I would send autometer a email asking them if they have a solution. I was unaware that they made a sender to replace the drain plug. I had thoughts of using the same guage but was going to put the sender in a thermal t-block spliced into a oil cooler line. Same as if you were puttin a trans temp guage on the factory tranny cooler lines.

13.200 millimetre [mm] equivalent to: 0.51968 inch [in].

33/64" would be 0.51562" or 13.1mm, the closest I could come up with.
