Ok just for the record dont trust your stock gauges. Anyways, i did Water temp and Oil Press and i mounted them on the A-Pillar, both electrical and 2 1/16th. The water temp is constantly staying between 175 and 195. i have a 180 Theremostat and the Electric fan set at about 185-190. The thing i didnt understand was my fan was on and my gauge read 179, is this ok??? And for the Oil Pressure at idle the pressure hovers around 25psi and around town cruising its right around 50 psi, are these number normal? Thanks!!!

your oil pressure is fine. changing to a better filter/different weight oil might keep it at more pressure at idel, but my guess is that your running 10-30 oil and a fram filter?

as for the temp... a few degrees isnt bad... its only 5 degrees, anything more than that i would be worried a bit.

OT: why did you choose electrical gauges over mechanical?

Your guage must be broken. It should be considerably lower at idle. With the engine oil hot [been running 30 min. or more] you should have about 20psi at idle. That is for a stock engine and oil pump.

Bingo on the 10w30 and the Fram Filter "lol" The reason i did electrical is basically for ease of installtion and didnt feel like something coming undone and getting oil and coolant all over my interior.

i agree those numbers sound fine. with the water temp, remember the delta from the temp gauge sender location vs the sender/probe for the fan itself.

for future searchers, a mechanical temp gauge does not flow liquid into the interior - it uses ether in a capillary tube.

glad to hear the new gauges are well liked.
