Autometer Instrument Cluster Bezel for 2004 Mustang GT

Anyone using one of these Autometer instrument cluster bezel to hold two gauges? The picture they have on the Autometer and Summit Racing website show it with these two holes on the ends that look like screw holes. I've emailed Autometer twice with no response.

Is anyone using one of these? Product #10005. Does it really have those holes on the ends?

What about that weird indentation on the left end? I believe the 99-00s have the rear window defrost switch there so I'm wondering if they just used an old photo.

I've got it, and the 2 holes are there. There's small brackets that you put in and that's where you screw into them. You really don't notice them.

The indentation is in the plastic, but it's not cutout. Really wasn't a show stopper for me, but PM me if you want some pics.

I'll post some when I get home or tomorrow morning.

I've got the autometer. Right now I only have the boost gauge in, the FP gauge is sitting in the garage next to my new fuel rail w/ the schrader valve in it.

Nice.

If you can post some that shows those screw holes, that would be neat. Also, try to get a shot of that dent for the rear window defrost part. It looks like a good place for some push button switches or small toggle ones.

I went with the carbon series, just oil pressure ant water temp to replace the idiot lights. If you notice I have placed a switch in the detent below the headlight switch. I added a temp sensor in the t used for the oil pressure sensor and both sensors are wired through the switch to the water temp gauge so witht the flip of a switch I get water and oil temps.

I didn't quite catch what you did with the T thing but I'm glad you posted that pic. I now see what those screw holes look like, sort of. Are the screws necessary to mount that thing in place? Or are they there for some other application?

They're there to mount it.

Thanks for the pics. Too bad they didn't make one that matches the factory one.

I guess I'll order mine, after I get my line lock installed this weekend, and after I get control arms, and after I get adjustable shocks.

Ford sells the paint that will match the interior. I didn't feel like spending $14/car, so I just matched the best I could at the parts store. The flash makes the color look more off than it really is.

Autometer recommends VHT Interior paint. I'm not too worried about that. Close enough is good enough. For the tan interior, that gauge cluster bezel is not adjacent to anything with the same color or texture. It doesn't have to match exactly. I was more concerned about having those screw holes and that extra indentation.

Well to clarify, when you install an electric oil pressure gauge you need to install the sensor in a tee so it points forward instead of down (without tee) or it places the sensor almost in contact with the sway bar. Since the pressure sensor uses the forward facing inlet there is still an opening pointing down that you need to plug. I chose to plug it with a temp sensor and have both water temp and oil temp sensors wired through a SPDT on-on switch that allows me to check both temps using only 1 gauge by changing the switch position on the dash.

Got'cha. Two senders, one gauge. Neat. That gives me a second option. I could go with the single gauge mounting pod that goes around the steering column, and only have to buy one temperature gauge, but hook up a water temp and a transmission fluid temp sender with a SPDT switch.

Hmmmm.... I'll have to think about that. I plan on getting the digital gauges from Cyberdyne that have a high temp alert feature. If it reaches a user-specified temperature, the display will flash. It will be perfect for temperatures but I won't be able to monitor both TFT and ECT at the same time.

I did the same thing with a trans temp gauge on my 78. I have a sensor on both lines to and from the cooler that way with the flip of a switch I can see how well the cooler is working by seeing the difference in temps before and after the cooler.
